How to Build a Resilient Immune System Before the Holidays

The holidays are coming — and with them, all the joy, travel, late nights, and indulgent foods that can leave your immune system feeling run down.

But here’s the good news: your body was designed to heal, protect, and thrive. You just have to give it the right support.

Let’s talk about how to strengthen your immune system naturally — from the inside out — before the busy season hits.

Step One: Start with Your Gut

If you want a strong immune system, you have to start where 70% of your immune function actually lives — your gut.

Your gut isn’t just about digestion; it’s your internal defense system. When your gut lining is strong and your microbiome is balanced, your body can better fight off viruses, reduce inflammation, and keep your energy steady.

One of my personal go-tos for gut support is Ion Gut Health, a mineral-rich, soil-based formula that helps seal and protect the gut lining while improving communication between cells. It’s not a probiotic — it’s a signal enhancer that helps your body work the way God designed it to.

I take mine daily — especially during travel or when life gets hectic. It’s been a game-changer for digestion, energy, and immune strength.

Step Two: Eat with Intention

Fall is the perfect time to load up on immune-building foods. And the foods you eat a the best medicine you can give your body daily.

• Garlic and onions: natural antivirals and antibacterials.

• Mushrooms: especially shiitake or maitake for immune modulation.

• Leafy greens and seaweed: rich in zinc, magnesium, and trace minerals.

• Citrus and berries: for vitamin C and antioxidants.

• Load up on fresh herbs: oregano, parsley, rosemary and thyme.

Pair these with good fats — olive oil, avocado, grass-fed butter — to help absorb nutrients and keep your hormones balanced.

Step Three: Support Your Body’s Drainage Systems

Your immune system can’t do its job if your body is backed up.

That’s where gentle detox support comes in — think sauna sessions, lymphatic movement, hydration, and Epsom salt baths.

Even a 10-minute walk after meals helps your lymphatic system flow better, which helps your body process waste and reduce inflammation naturally.

Step Four: Prioritize Rest and Prayer

It sounds simple, but rest is one of the most overlooked immune boosters.

When your body slows down, it can repair. When your mind slows down, your stress hormones drop.

Take time each day for stillness — to pray, to breathe, and to be reminded that health is a partnership between your body and your faith.

And, most importantly- take time for gratitude for what you already have right here, right now. Just a few minutes each day basking in the richness of human life
